Timely recognition of the signs and symptoms of posterior circulation stroke (PCS) is critical for properly diagnosing PCS, understanding the clinical course, and managing patients with acute PCS diagnosis. Delayed or incorrect diagnosis results in inadequate acute care and poorer outcomes. While PCS can be challenging to recognize; in this webinar series learn to distinguish characteristic clinical patterns and apply AHA/ACC guideline recommendations.

This case-based presentation is designed to provide learners with the evidence and knowledge they require to incorporate guideline-based care and new research findings into their management of patients with AF, including the appropriate use of rate and rhythm control options, anticoagulants, anti-arhythmic drugs, lifestyle approaches, and non-pharmacologic therapies, as well as understand ethnic/racial differences in outcomes for AF.

Participation in activities of daily life can be challenging for those with transthyretin amyloid cardiomyopathy (ATTR-CM), a restrictive cardiomyopathy produced by extracellular deposition of transthyretin. Geographic and racial healthcare disparities add to the burden of disease. Shared decision making and early detection with readily available noninvasive tests, among other strategies, are essential as therapy for ATTR-CM.
CE and MOC Credits Available. Approved for 1.0 AAFP Prescribed Credit.

Patient Care Post-Acute Myocardial Infarction: The First 90 Days
Surgical and interventional options such as surgical myectomy or alcohol septal ablation may help those with obstructive HCM to reduce or remove the obstruction. A similar option is unavailable to those with non-obstructive HCM. Heart transplants are considered as a last resort for HCM patients who progress to end stages of the disease. Learn the latest in the clinical management of HCM in this free webinar.

While a precise percentage of cryptogenic strokes is unknown, approximately 35% of strokes are thought to be cryptogenic. This suggests nearly 240,000 strokes annually for which no clear etiology can be distinguished. Experts concur the embolic insult in cryptogenic stroke may be due to subclinical atrial fibrillation (AF). It is estimated about 15% of ischemic strokes are caused by AF and that there is an elevated risk of secondary ischemic stroke due to AF.
This 3-part educational webinar series on cryptogenic stroke focuses on the 2021 Guideline for the Prevention of Stroke in Patients with Stroke and Transient Ischemic Attack.

Shared decision-making has become a method to enhance patient involvement in health care decisions, patient-provider communication, and patient-centered care. When selecting the best hypertension management plan, your patients may have different goals and preferences for treatment. Adherence may be increased if the plan aligns with the patient’s preferences. In this webinar you will learn how to engage your patients and incorporate shared decision making into your practice. Barriers to implementing strategies will also be discussed.
