N. A. Mark Estes III MD, FAHA is Professor of Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh and Director of the Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology Fellows Program at the Heart and Vascular Institute at UPMC. After his undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania he was elected to AOA at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. He trained in medicine at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital, cardiology at Tufts Medical Center, and clinical cardiac electrophysiology at Massachusetts General Hospital. After three decades as the Director of the New England Cardiac Arrhythmia Center, he joined UPMC in Pittsburgh in 2018. He has served as President of the Heart Rhythm Society, Chair of the AHA Council of Clinical Cardiology, and Chairman of the Board of Moses Brown School. He serves as the Editor-In-Chief of the Cardiovascular Section of UpToDate, and on the editorial board of 11 journals. From 2017-2021 he served as Chair the AHA Scientific Publishing Committee. He is on the ABIM Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology and International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners Test Writing Committees. He has been recognized as a Best Doctor in Boston (1997-2018) and Pittsburgh (2019-2020). He has over 600 publications including authorship or co-authorship of 9 books.
